Christopher Smith has
almost 30 years of information technology experience,
comprised of over 21 years
of financial services, four years of manufacturing
experience, and five years in the healthcare industry.
During these years, he has achieved expertise in IT
management, project management, database management and
support, server management and support, application
architecture, design and development, object-oriented
design, as well as web site development. In addition,
Christopher has gained administrative expertise in
Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint
Server, and Small Business Server products. To
strengthen these skills and develop others, he has
received advanced training in Microsoft Solutions
Framework, PMI – PMBOK and Zero-Defect methodologies, as
well as Agile and RUPP, along with Microsoft
certifications in Microsoft Project and SQL Server. As
an added benefit, Christopher has exceptional verbal and
written communication skills, and has led and managed
many successful teams.
Most recently,
Christopher is the owner of an IT consulting business
for small and medium-size businesses within Waukesha
County. His company is a Microsoft Registered Member.
Prior to this role, he was the Technical Services
Manager for the IS Division of a local medical
laboratory specimen processing company. Prior to his
management position, he was a senior consultant for a
local Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. His roles
included staff manager for his company’s Microsoft
Business Unit, engagement manager as well as PMO Manager
for a large local health insurance company, project
manager and developer for a large local financial
services company, Crystal Reports developer for a local
casualty insurance software development company, and a
Lotus Notes developer for a large local labeling company
within the manufacturing vertical. Prior to his
consulting position, Christopher was a senior systems
developer and IT manager for a local manufacturing
company, and a senior programmer analyst for two large
financial institutions. His first IT position was as a
programmer analyst for a large automotive manufacturer.
Christopher’s
technical expertise ranges from hardware—servers,
laptops, and desktops—to languages—Visual Basic,
Java, and C++, —to databases—Microsoft SQL Server,
Microsoft Access, and MySQL—to software packages—BMC
Remedy, Microsoft Office Suite, Peachtree, QuickBooks—to
server products—Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft
Small Business Server, Microsoft Exchange Server,
Microsoft SharePoint Server, and Microsoft Windows
Server—to other products such as UML, CISCO and Watch
Guard security and VPN products, VMware, and Crystal
Reports.
